We arrived on the high plains with the mob at about lunchtime. The cattle wasted no time getting stuck into the grass. After an hour's break we pushed them further out. It seemed absurd that in the midst of a shocking drought the abundant feed on the high plains was being wasted and that grass was being allowed to dry off to become more waste fuel for wildfires.
