Phil's ABC interview

01/14/2007 | Phil's ABC interview

Phil Maguire being interviewed by the ABC at the mustering hut at Dinner Plain. Phil said he had taken the cattle back for three reasons, firstly because it was vital to protect the plains from wildfire, secondly because it was in defence of Australia's heritage and culture and thirdly because he had a legal right to graze his runs this summer. Phil challenged Environment Minister John Thwaites and Premier, Steve Bracks, to a public debate and said he was prepared to confront them in court should they seek to curtail his right to graze his runs.
